Baltimore's Best Breakfast Destinations

If you're tired of eating a bowl of cereal in the morning, then gather your friends and enjoy a hearty breakfast at a nearby restaurant:

At Miss Shirley's Cafe, guests enjoy award-winning cuisine made with fresh ingredients from the Chesapeake Bay region. It was established in 2005 by Eddie Dopkin as a tribute to his friend Shirley McDowell. She was known for her outgoing personality and the delicious meals she prepared for her family and friends. The restaurant is upscale, yet casual, and has received recognition from publications such as The New York Times and The Boston Globe. In the kitchen, the cooks prepare an array of dishes such as coconut cream stuffed French toast, bayou omelets, and banana chocolate chip pancakes.

If you are searching for an eclectic place to dine, look no further than the Papermoon Diner. Its funky decor features PEZ dispensers, spooky dolls, and mannequins, and guests are treated like family the minute they walk through the doors. The meals are served in large portions at reasonable prices, and choices include bacon and cheddar pancakes, bananas foster French toast, and shrimp omelets.

The Iron Rooster was born as the owners wanted to create a place where people could feel at home while they enjoy a delicious meal. It has a four-star rating on TripAdvisor as reviewers enjoy the casual atmosphere, friendly staff, and the unique twists on classic comfort food dishes. The menu includes latkes and eggs, crab cake benedicts, and breakfast mac & cheese.

At On the Hill Cafe, one hundred percent of the electricity comes from wind power. It offers a casual atmosphere, and the meals are made with organic ingredients such as the eggs that are delivered weekly from Springfield Farms. Dishes include Belgian waffles, quiche, and breakfast burritos.
