Celebrate Food in Baltimore with These Three August Festivals
As the summer ends and fall rolls around, there will be plenty of opportunities to celebrate the harvest at local festivals around Baltimore. Here is a look at four local events coming up this August that highlight the importance and glory of Baltimore's diverse cuisine.
UNION SQUARE 4TH ANNUAL CRAB FEAST
On August 11th from 1 pm to 5 pm, the Union Square Association will be hosting the 4th annual Crab Feast at Union Square Park. Proceeds will benefit the Steuart Hill Academic Academy to fill a backpack for local students. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the gate. You can choose from a plethora of meals like crabs, fried chicken, corn on the cob, potatoes, watermelon, baked goods, and more.
BALTIMORE SUMMER VEGAN RESTAURANT WEEK
Try something new at a participating restaurant from August 17th to 26th to support the Baltimore Summer Vegan Restaurant Week. Restaurants such as the Golden West Cafe and The Land of Kush will be participating this year as well as many others yet to be announced. Come out and support your local restaurants while supporting healthy living.
5TH ANNUAL VEGAN SOULFEST
Finally, on August 25th from 12 pm to 7 pm, the Vegan Soulfest will take over Clifton Park to celebrate vegan culture and living. Admission is completely free and you will be able to buy and eat great vegan meals as well as experience demonstrations, exhibits, and more by nutrition and vegan experts. The event is open to anyone willing to try some vegan meals and learn more about the lifestyle.
